Dashboard and orders
Early access
A layaway plan is a real order in your BigCommerce admin from the moment it opens, and its status tracks the plan. The panel's Dashboard tab reports on the same plans.
Orders
| When | Your BigCommerce order |
|---|---|
| A shopper opens a plan | Created Awaiting Payment. This is also what reserves the stock for the life of the plan. |
| The plan is paid off | Moves to Awaiting Fulfillment — your cue to ship. |
| The plan is cancelled or defaults | Moves to Cancelled. Restocking follows your store's own settings. |
Do not ship on Awaiting Payment
A plan collects over weeks, and its order sits in Awaiting Payment for all of them. Awaiting Fulfillment is the only status that means the goods are paid for. Shipping on the creation status is how a store sends stock it has not been paid for.
Orders the plugin creates carry the payment method ShotPay Layaway and a staff note naming the plan, so you can find them in your admin. The status follows the plan on its own — there is nothing to reconcile by hand.
A plan opened while the store is in sandbox still creates a real order, so you can test the whole flow, and it still reserves stock. Its staff note starts with TEST — ShotPay sandbox so you never ship it.
A plan opened from a product page is an order for that one product. A plan opened from the cart, the add-to-cart popup or checkout is one order carrying every line the shopper had in their cart, exactly as it stood when they opened the plan — a shopper who changes their cart afterwards does not change the plan or the order.
Dashboard
The panel opens on Dashboard, covering the last 30 days against the 30 before them. It counts only plans opened from this storefront, in the mode the store is using — in sandbox it reports sandbox plans and nothing else, and switching to live shows live plans instead. See Sandbox.
| Tiles | Active plans, Collected, Outstanding, and Completed plans, each with its change against the prior 30 days. |
| Plan health | On track, At risk (missed an installment), Defaulted, and Cancelled. |
| Coming due | What you can expect to collect over the next 7 and next 30 days. |
| Recent plans | The five most recent, with their reference, product, total, and status. A cart plan reads as its first item and a count of the rest. |
| Top products | The five products opening the most plans. |
A store with no plans yet shows an empty dashboard rather than zeroes.
Getting the same data elsewhere
The dashboard is a summary. For the plans themselves — every installment, every status change, exportable — use List contracts, or subscribe to Webhooks to hear about each change as it happens.
